Job Description

  • Excellent writing/ editing skills; having a good command over spellings and grammar.
  • Proofreading ability to ensure content is well-written and logically structured.
  • Ensuring the text is in line with the ‘in-house style’.
  • Checking for factual errors and the ability to differentiate sensitive content.
  • Thoroughly checking illustrations, infographics, and captions.
  • Adding headlines and introductory paragraphs to articles.
  • Resolving queries directly with the author, e.g. style and text inconsistencies.
  • Overseeing the work of indexers, typesetters and designers.

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent but promising candidates with Bachelor’s degree would also be considered) in Journalism, Mass Communication, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.

Work Experience

A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in Media Industry with exposure to writing print promotional materials, online web content, press releases, copy to assist media campaigns, etc. An advertising background with an understanding of Search Engines and Internet Marketing would be an added advantage.
