Viksit Bharat Ambassador Event with Sri Sri Ravishankar in Mumbai

Over 25,000 enthusiastic people gathered at the General Arun Vaidya Ground in Mumbai on Friday 12th April for an unforgettable evening under the banner of VBA 2024. The event, called ‘An Evening of Music and Meditation with Viksit Bharat Ambassadors’, was graced by notable guests, including playback singer Sonu Nigam, esteemed investment bankers, revered judges, and respected law enforcement officials, such as DCPs and ACPs.

The event’s Chief Guest was the revered spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. At the heart of the event was the message of building a ‘Viksit Bharat’, a movement initiated by PM Narendra Modi to amplify India’s growth story as it journeys to become a developed country. Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar highlighted the importance of collective action and nurturing a positive mindset towards nation-building.

He reflected on India’s cultural richness and diversity and emphasized the need for mutual respect and harmony among all religions. He commended Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, particularly praising how he embraces his culture wholeheartedly. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar emphasized the importance of believing in Viksit Bharat to achieve it.

The spiritual leader also commented on the changing perception of India abroad, noting that people used to change their names while travelling overseas, but now it’s different. He emphasized the importance of having a leader who understands the thoughts of his people and the world.

Union Minister Shri Piyush Goyal attended the event and delivered a passionate speech encouraging the audience to become Viksit Bharat Ambassadors in their respective communities. He credited PM Modi’s leadership for the substantial improvements in the lives of citizens over the last decade and highlighted that neighbouring countries now regard India with envy.

Another highlight of the evening was singer Sonu Nigam‘s soul-stirring performance of ‘Ram Bhajan’. He also expressed his happiness at being a citizen of a country with such a rich culture and tradition that it takes years to grasp fully.

Furthermore, a captivating 10-minute movie presentation shared the remarkable journey of efforts undertaken in moving towards a Viksit Bharat over the past decade. Several attendees also proudly sported the ‘I am a Viksit Bharat Ambassador’ caps to show their pride. As the event concluded, attendees left with a renewed sense of purpose and commitment to the ideals of building a Viksit Bharat.
